Scottish Sporting Journal - Vol II Issue I

Scottish Sporting Journal injects a modern design into a 40-year-old title; the same passion for Scotland, captured and documented in a whole new way. Evolving from the Gazette to the Journal, this 180-page bi-annual magazine is a visual and written journey through Scotland’s wild places, capturing the passion, craft and pursuits within them. We believe that Scotland represents a way of life that is long lost to much of the modern world; a way of life in which the people, wildlife and landscape are all intrinsically linked. Our aim is to share this emotion and experience, offering true escapism to our readers. From chasing brown trout in small spate rivers to stalking stags in the Highlands to spending time with faraway island communities, we put the focus on visual storytelling, capturing the essence of what makes Scotland such a unique country.

About Fieldsports Journal

After almost 40 years, the Scottish Sporting Journal has been given a new lease of life and direction. It will be a visual and written journey through Scotland’s wild places, capturing the passion, craft and pursuits that take place within them. We believe that Scotland represents a way of life that is long lost to much of the modern world; a way of life in which the people, wildlife and landscape are all intrinsically linked.

Our aim is to share this emotion and experience, offering true escapism to our readers. Scottish Sporting Journal will be the third title from the publisher Fieldsports Press Limited to be printed on thick 110 gsm, sustainably-sourced, hand-selected paper. Using an elaborate sheet-fed print process, the pages have best-in-class colour fidelity, contrast and sharpness to display award-winning, world-class photography and features. In keeping with the publisher's direction, Scottish Sporting Journal will also be delivered in a recycled, fully recyclable cardboard box, turning its back on single-use polywrap plastic for distribution unlike all other titles in the country sports sector.
